The Beautification Committee

The Wisteria Court Neighborhood Beautification Committee meets on the third Saturday of every month at ten in the morning, rotating between members' houses. It has twelve regular members, and Claire has chaired it for five years. Standing agenda items include the Patterson hydrangeas, new streetlamp covers, and Mr. Baxter's rose on the shared fence.

In December the committee holds its dinner at the Pattersons', and Margaret wants to talk about white bulbs versus warmer white until midnight. That's the night Tom has Quinn over. By spring, Helen runs the agenda, and in April the committee meets on a Friday night without telling Claire.
